Modeling can also be pursued as part time to pay for owning objects of desire or for ones personal satisfaction of being splashed all over, far and wide in advertisements / magazines / calendars / posters / TV advertisements / brochures, as a celebrity and to be recognized as one or helping a relative or an acquaintance for their advertising needs.

Professionalism is the Mantra

Pursuing it professionally or as a hobby or part time indulgence, all assignments have to be handled in a very professional way meeting commitments and deadlines of the accepted commissioned modeling assignment punctually. Is modelling only for beautiful, good looking and well proportioned people?

There is job for all types of looks, shapes and sizes all round the year. Maybe it may not be lots of work but there is work. Times have changed considerably. One can just point to as examples the current advertisements in print and TV. There is an abundant use as models of very ordinary built, looks, shapes and sizes by the companies and agencies. Look at yourself and you would find to have better looks than the ones in the ads.

But look closely at each character in the ad and you will notice that all of these people have the ability to emote and give great expression, one cannot miss the lively expressive eyes and they know how to hold and give poses. Beautiful assets are useless if there is lack of giving expressions and right poses on direction or Q. One needs to understand the requirements of the concept for the visual presentation of the clients.

A few are natural but most need to work to develop the art for a good career. There is lots of hard work involved and also need tons of LUCK. Modeling is a very decent career. There are unethical people in all fields of workplaces and activities. Most jobs are not so galmorous so people never ever hear about exploitation in those work places so very often. There are models who like become top notch models with the very first job and fastest possible route. Some with a balanced attituide work and promoete themselves, while there are quite a lot who do not have that punch to beat competition so they shed all inhibitions and dump morals to get what they want. They may get the first job but later jobs depend on how the ad was accepted. Surely there is a small percentage in the industry who have built up a reputation of exploiting new comers or desparate pros. The honey trap of sweet talk making a person a star overnight and a star for ever. Anybody asked them what they doing at where they are and not at the top themselves. This just a word of caution take all decisions very carefully. Nobody can prey on you if maintain your distance and do not give wrong signals. Do not forget the human aspect, most times things will happen on your sending wrong signals.
